Wows Award-Winning Filmmaker Ken Burns

Award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns recently met with key donors
in San Francisco to provide a sneak preview his new film series
Prohibition. Prior to the Evening with Ken Burns
event, the filmmaker was treated to a full screening of the
fourteen-part Porziuncola Nuova video series and given
a private tour of the Saint Francis of Assisi Cappella in North
Beach. The Porziuncola Nuova is a replica of Francis’ chapel
in Assisi Italy.
The videos, created by NewGroup Media, chronicle the construction
of the chapel of the Knights of Saint Francis in San Francisco,
California. The videos took two years to produce and were recorded
on location in the Central Umbria region of Italy and in San Francisco,
California. Porziuncola Nuova, was recently awarded the
top Telly Award for History/Biography and the International Aurora
Award for Visitors Center Presentation.
