Goes Cross-Country, Brings Home Awards
NewGroup Media continues to be recognized for
their outstanding video productions, earning numerous awards in
major international competitions once again.
Recorded on location in the Central Umbria region of Italy and
North Beach in San Francisco, California, Porziuncola Nouva,
a historical and tour video focusing on the Porziuncola replica
at the National Shrine of Saint Francis of Assisi in San Francisco
was awarded the top Telly Award for History/Biography
and the International Aurora Award for Visitors
Center Presentation.
A one-hour broadcast documentary, Interrupted Lives: Catholic
Sisters Under European Communism, was awarded the Gabriel
Award for National Release: Religion. The program was
shot on location in the United States as well as Poland, Hungary,
Slovakia, Romania and Ukraine.
A new video showcasing student life and academics at the University
of San Diego was honored for Recruiting in two major competitions
including winning the Gold award at the International
Aurora Awards and the Telly Award.
Honors Opportunities in the Arts and Sciences, produced
for the College of Arts and Letters at the University of Notre
Dame took two top awards for Recruiting including a Telly and
an Aurora Gold. The six part program, taped on location in Rome,
Italy, Oxford, England and on campus in South Bend explored multiple
opportunities for honors track and honors focused curriculum at
Notre Dame.
The Aurora Awards is an international competition recognizing
excellence in film and video focusing on non-national commercials,
regional or special interest entertainment and corporate sponsored
film and video. The Gabriel Award is designed to honor works of
excellence in film, network and cable television and radio programs.
The Telly Awards honors the very best in local, regional, cable
television commercials and programs, as well as excellence in
film and video productions.
